Tampa, FL June 20, 2008 - The City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department is offering a new workshop: Thinking outside the Cigar Box: A Clock Workshop in Collage and Sculpture. The workshop will be offered from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the Hyde Park Art Studio, located at 702 S. Albany Avenue.
Participants will be transforming a cigar box into a clock sculpture that tells a story by combining collage techniques and small objects into a piece of art that joins collage with sculpture. The fee is $50 and class size is limited. Pre-registration required by calling the Hyde Park Art Studio at (813) 259-1687.
Supplies needed: Bring a tin can (like you store cookies in) 8 inches or under, printed imagery/photos, unusual papers, and collected objects. To prepare, think about a theme or topic that you would like to express within your clock.
