Tampa, FL August 5, 2008 - Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio will participate in the National Night Out campaign against crime by visiting three Tampa neighborhood events tomorrow evening, Tuesday, August 5.

Iorio will begin the evening by visiting Tampa Police District One’s south Tampa neighborhood watch groups at 6 p.m. at the Target located on Gandy Boulevard and Dale Mabry Highway. From there she will travel to Tampa Police District Two to visit with residents at Henry & Ola Park, located at 502 W. Henry Avenue in Old Seminole Heights. She is expected to end the evening in Tampa Police District Three at Rivercrest Park, 4802 N. River Boulevard.

The 25th Annual National Night Out campaign gives citizens throughout the city and the nation an opportunity to send a powerful message about neighborhood unity, awareness, safety and police-community partnerships in addition to promoting crime, drug and violence prevention.

Members of the Tampa Police Department will join citizens at more than 14 locations. For more information about the campaigns, contact the TPD Public Information Office at (813) 276-3255.
