Mounted Patrol Super Bowl TrainingHorses from 5 agencies will provide Super Bowl Security
 
Tampa, FL September 24, 2008 -


What: 20 officers and their horses begin training for the Super Bowl.

When: Thursday, September 25
8:30 a.m. – handling combative suspects
9:30 a.m. – handcuffing on horseback
11 a.m. – crowd control, safety

Where: Florida State Fairgrounds Equestrian Center. Take the Orient Road exit off I4 and enter through the Orient Road Gate into the Fairgrounds. Follow the signs to the Equestrian Center. Ask for Cpl. Mike Morrow.

Details:
The Tampa Police Department, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Pinellas Park Police Department, Bushnell Police Department and Lake County Sheriff's Office Mounted Patrol Officers begin training for the Super Bowl. This training will ensure that all agencies are using the same techniques to keep fans safe on game day. Officers will practice handcuffing combative suspects, training on crowd control techniques and safety drills.
