Christmas Tree Recycling
Tampa, FL December 23, 2008 - The City of Tampa Department of Solid Waste & Environmental Program Managment will be offering free pick up and recycling of Christmas trees.

Trees must be bare (no ornaments, lights or tree stands), and should be placed curbside for removal beginning January 5, 2009. Residents currently receiving yard waste recycling service will have their trees removed in conjunction with their regularly-scheduled yard waste collection. Areas not receiving yard waste recycling service, will have their trees picked up on Thursday, January 8 and Friday, January 9, 2009. Residents also have the option of disposing of their trees at the Manhattan Brush site, or at the McKay Bay Waste-to-Energy Facility. Trees will be ground up and the resulting chips used as mulch.
