| Iorio Announces Citizen/TECO Energy Conservation Task ForceMembers to focus on energy initiatives |

Tampa, FL March 12, 2009 - Today, Mayor Pam Iorio announced the members of a citizen’s task force that will work with the City of Tampa and TECO Energy to develop energy conservation policies for our community.
The Mayor’s Citizen/TECO Energy Conservation Task Force will provide Mayor Iorio with recommendations for energy conservation, renewable energy, and climate change initiatives for implementation by the City, TECO Energy and the general public.
The members of the task force are C.J. Reynolds, Colin Hill, Daniel Grabowski, Darren Brinkley, David Reed, Dean Head, Dena Gross-Leavengood, Ed Turanchik, Jennifer Doerfel, Larry G. Eagan, Maggie Wilson, Marc Eichenholtz, Robert Armstead, Sharon Hanna-West, Stephen Koontz, Sue Lyons and Terrance Bradford.
The first meeting of the task force will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Mayor’s Conference Room, located on the first-floor of the Tampa Municipal Office Building at 306 E. Jackson Street. All meetings of the task force are open to the public.
The concept for the task force came out of the public discussions that took place during the renewal of the Tampa Electric franchise agreement. At that time, many issues were raised by Tampa City Council and the public that could not legally be addressed through the franchise renewal process but could be addressed through a citizen-based task force.
