Tampa, FL June 11, 2009 -
Suspect: Vereen, Ernest Jr., B/M , 11/29/76, 9706 21st St., Tampa
Charges: Sexual battery x3, kidnapping, aggravated battery
Victim: 22-year-old/H/F
Details:
After the suspect and the victim got into an argument, the suspect held the victim captive for two days. He repeatedly raped, beat and sodomized her during the captivity. The suspect and the victim were previously in a relationship. The victim escaped on June 9 at 5 p.m. and went to the BP Gas station, 1310 E. Busch Blvd. Tampa Police and Tampa Fire Rescue arrived on scene and she was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital. The Tampa Police Department along with the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force received a tip about the suspect’s location. He was arrested without incident at Willow Ave. and Delaware St. on 06/11 at 3 p.m.
