Walking with the Mayor - Keeping Tampa Fit
October 13, 2009 - Mayor Pam Iorio invites you to participate for Walking with the Mayor - Keeping Tampa Fit on Saturday, November 7 at Rowlett Park (Shelter 218), located at 2501 River Hills Drive.

Mayor Iorio initiated Walking with the Mayor – Keeping Tampa Fit in 2005 and walks are held twice a year. The goal of the walks is to encourage citizens throughout Tampa to incorporate additional physical activity into their lifestyles for better health. The walks are an extension of Mayor Iorio’s commitment to improving the overall quality of life in Tampa.

Physical activity is key to maintaining a healthy body weight, preventing disease and feeling better. A growing body of research shows that physically active adults and children are less prone to obesity, diabetes, heart disease and even depression. Tampa’s parks offer a wide range of free and low-cost opportunities to get out and play.
