Tampa, FL November 5, 2009 - Mayor Pam Iorio will be joined by Colonel Lawrence M. Martin Jr., Commander of the 6th Air Mobility Wing at MacDill Air Force Base, and other members of the military for the signing of Tampa’s Community Covenant on Tuesday, November 10, 2009. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at Heroes Plaza at Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park, located at 601 Old Water Street.
Tampa, a city and community that values its relationship with Mac Dill Air Force Base and local service members, is further demonstrating its support of the military and military families by signing the Covenant. The Community Covenant was first initiated by the Secretary of the Army but it extends to other military services as well. The Covenant provides an opportunity for local communities to validate their support of the members of the armed forces and their families.
