Use Water Wisely "Tip of the Week" #53

November 18, 2009 - Each week the Tampa Water Department posts a different water conservation "Tip of the Week" to help you reduce your water use and conserve our limited water resources.

Tip #53: Only water your lawn on your irrigation day when it is needed. You can tell this by simply walking across your lawn. If you leave footprints, it's time to water. Following rain events it may be possible to “skip a week” if your yard has received between ½” to ¾” of water.

Tampa is experiencing a water shortage as a result of below normal rainfall and decreased regional supply availability. Please do your part to help our community by avoiding unnecessary and wasteful water use. Customers located in Tampa's reclaimed water service area can call (813) 282-7827 to inquire about service availability.
