November 17, 2009 - Gasparilla in all its glory returns to Tampa in January. The light-hearted Children's Extravaganza is Saturday, January 23, 2010. The Parade of the Pirates and Pirate Fest is slated for January 30, 2010. New for 2010, the Gasparilla Parade of the Pirates will have a new parade route, bringing the festivities right down into downtown Tampa to culminate at the new Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.
The Gasparilla festivities, on January 30, as an adult event, will also have a new attitude. First and foremost, the event promoter, EventFest, is working with the event sponsors, Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, the City of Tampa Police Department, and public and private educational resources to get out our message of Zero Tolerance for underage consumption of alcohol.
