Tampa Parks and Recreation Department Offers New Classes at the Barksdale Senior Citizen Center
 
February 5, 2010 - The City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department Barksdale Senior Citizen Center is offering two new classes for persons age 50 and older.

Zumba is a Latin-based aerobic fitness class that incorporates simple rhythmic dance patterns to improve cardio health and well being. The cost is $4 per class. Classes are ongoing and held on Thursdays from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m.

In Floral Design 101, students will learn about the floral design basics including contemporary design, traditional and non-traditional flower arranging. The cost is $2.50 per class. Participants should bring flowers, vases, ribbon, wire, cardholders, and cards. Wire cutters, scissors and stem cutters will be provided. This seven week course begins on Tuesday, February 23 and will be held on Tuesdays from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.

A current Rec Card is required to participate in all classes. For more information call the Barksdale Senior Citizen Center at 348-1180.
