Tampa, FL February 26, 2010 - Mayor Pam Iorio’s guest on the March episode of “Mayor’s Book Talk” will be author and former Tampa Tribune editor/reporter, Tim Dorsey. The two will discuss Dorsey’s twelfth Florida-styled crime book, Gator A-Go-Go.
The mayor’s book discussion group, fifth grade students from Rampello Downtown Partnership School, will be talking about The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. In The Lightning Thief, mythology and modern life intersect as the son of the Greek god Poseidon travels the United States to catch the thief of Zeus’ master bolt, the original weapon of mass destruction. Students can read along by logging onto www.tampagov.net/booktalk for discussion questions and upcoming book selections.
Iorio will also talk with Carla Jimenez from Inkwood Books, a popular South Tampa bookstore, about some of today’s most engaging reading selections.
