March Workshops on Proposed Lawn and Landscape Fertilizer Use Ordinance
 
February 24, 2010 - The Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County will hold informal workshops on Tuesday, March 2 and Wednesday, March 31 to take comment on a proposed draft Lawn and Landscape Fertilizer Use Ordinance .

The Tampa Bay Estuary Program's model ordinance, which served as the basis for the local ordinance adopted in January by Pinellas County, is among the options being considered in Hillsborough County. The TBEP ordinance calls for a ban on both sales and application of lawn/landscape fertizliers containing nitrogen or phosphorous during the June-September rainy season to reduce nutrient pollution in Tampa Bay.
