| ROC Squad Arrests Suspects After they Sold Stolen Kayaks to Undercover Officer on Craig's List

ARREST LOCATION: 302 Harbor Place Drive, Tampa
VICTIM: Wexler, Eric, W/M, 3305 Bayshore Blvd. Tampa
SUSPECT: Dodge, Michael, 03/03/1977, W/M, 302 Harbor Place Dr, #3319, Tampa
Charges: Grand Theft (boat), Dealing in stolen property, Use of Internet to commit a felony, Use of two way device (cellphone) to commit a felony
Greene, Jason Christopher, W/M, 07/10/1976, 851 W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa
Charges: Grand Theft (boat). Dealing in stolen property
DETAILS:
The defendants took the victim's kayaks from his home in Clearwater over the weekend. The victim saw his kayak being advertised for sale on Craig's List. He contacted Tampa Police and an officer began to correspond with the suspect via internet and cell phone. The defendants agreed to sell the stolen kayaks to the undercover officer, and requested that he come to an address on Harbor Island. After the transaction was complete, both defendants were taken into custody without incident. The kayak was returned to the owner. Defendant Dodge was already on probation for grand theft, his probation was violated. Two other kayaks were found at the suspect's address. Further investigation is needed to find the owners.
