Tampa, FL May 26, 2010 - Mayor Iorio’s guest on the June episode of “Mayor’s Book Talk” will be William Reece Smith, Jr., Chair Emeritus of Carlton Fields law firm and the subject of the legal biography, A Consummate Lawyer, by Michael Swygert. The two will discuss Smith’s incredible legal career which has spanned over six decades.
The mayor’s book discussion group, fifth grade students from Rampello Downtown Partnership School, will be talking about The London Eye Mystery by Siobhan Dowd. In The London Eye Mystery, a boy and his older sister fight to locate their missing cousin who has mysteriously disappeared from a sealed pod aboard the London Eye, a Ferris wheel attraction in the heart of the city. Together they follow a trail of clues in a desperate bid to find him. Students can read along by logging onto www.tampagov.net/booktalk for discussion questions and upcoming book selections.
Mayor Iorio will also talk with Carla Jimenez from Inkwood Books, a popular South Tampa bookstore, about some of today’s most engaging reading selections.
