New York Times Bestselling Author Lisa Unger Returns to “Mayor’s Book Talk”
Tampa, FL October 27, 2010 - With an exciting new mystery novel to discuss, bestselling author Lisa Unger returns to the City of Tampa Television (CTTV) studio to talk with Mayor Pam Iorio on the November episode of Mayor’s Book Talk. Her latest book, Fragile, was chosen as a Top Book Pick for Great Summer Reads on ABC’s Good Morning America.

The mayor’s book discussion group, fifth grade students from Rampello Downtown Partnership School, talk about Elephant Run by Roland Smith. In the book, Nick’s mother fears for her son’s safety after a bomb explodes in London. She relocates him to his father’s Burmese teak plantation. But the wages of war find the new locale to be even more treacherous. When his father is taken prisoner, Nick and a friend plan a daring double-rescue and escape. Students can read along by logging onto www.tampagov.net/booktalk for discussion questions and upcoming book selections.

Iorio will also talk with Carla Jimenez from Inkwood Books, a popular South Tampa bookstore, about some of today’s most engaging reading selections.

Mayor’s Book Talk can be viewed on City of Tampa Television (CTTV), Channel 15 on Verizon FiOS and Channel 615 on Bright House Networks. Replay times for Mayor’s Book Talk are Sundays at 3:30 p.m., Mondays at 8 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 8 a.m.
