Buckhorn Appoints Chief of Staff and Chief Financial Officer
 
Tampa, FL April 28, 2011 - Mayor Bob Buckhorn has appointed Santiago Corrada as Chief of Staff. Corrada has been with the City of Tampa for seven years and has served as the Neighborhood Services Administrator and the Convention Center, Tourism, Recreation and Cultural Arts Administrator. Sonya Little, a new addition to the leadership team, has been appointed as the City of Tampa's Chief Financial Officer. Little will bring over 19 years of municipal finance experience to the City as an analyst, financial advisor, and investment banker.

Little most recently held the position of Managing Director at Public Resources Advisory Group before coming to the City of Tampa. In her duties there she served as financial advisor to the City of Hollywood and the Hollywood Beach Community Redevelopment Agency. Little also served as a member of the Public Resources Advisory Group financial advisory team for the cities of Tampa and Orlando, the counties of Miami-Dade and Pinellas, the housing finance authorities of Brevard County and Miami-Dade County, and the District of Columbia. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of South Florida.

The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for oversight of a $787 million budget as well as the operation of the Revenue and Finance Department, which includes Accounting and the Budget Office. Additionally, the CFO oversees long-range strategic financial planning and implements responsible fiscal strategies for the City’s operation.

“They represent the best and the brightest,” said Mayor Bob Buckhorn. “I couldn’t be happier with these appointments. They are a great addition to the team.”

Corrada’s confirmation will go before Tampa City Council on May 5, 2011. His annual salary will be $153,004. Little will begin work on May 9, 2011 at an annual salary of $160,659. She will serve in an interim capacity until she establishes residency within the City of Tampa at which time her nomination will go before Tampa City Council for confirmation.
