August 1, 2011 - There will be a basic Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training class starting on Saturday, August 20, 2011 through Saturday, September 17, 2011. The class will be held on four Saturdays (08/20/11, 08/27/11, 09/10/11 and 09/17/11) from 9AM to 4PM at the Tampa Fire Rescue training center (116 S 34th Street, Tampa FL, 33605). Registration will be at 830AM on the first Saturday (8/20).
The purpose of the course is to provide citizens with the basic skills needed during a major disaster. This training will allow graduates to respond to the immediate needs of their community in the aftermath of a major disaster - the time when emergency services may not be immediately available.
To register for this class, please fill out our registration form, including your name, as you would like it to appear on your CERT certificate and a daytime contact phone number by Wednesday, August 17, 2011.
All training materials will be provided free of charge. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early the first day in order to fill out the necessary paperwork. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
