October 24, 2011 - Join Mayor Buckhorn downtown on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 to kick off the inaugural Mayor’s Food Truck Fiesta. The event is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Franklin Street between Madison Street and Kennedy Boulevard.
The idea for a food truck rally in downtown Tampa came about after Mayor Buckhorn attended the one in Hyde Park earlier in the year. “Creating a hip downtown requires thinking outside of the box,” said Mayor Bob Buckhorn. “This is exactly the kind of event that will generate a buzz and excitement in our urban core.”
Through a partnership with the Tampa Downtown Partnership (TDP), the Mayor’s Food Truck Fiesta was launched. “Mayor Buckhorn knows the kind of things that make a city vibrant and exciting,” said TDP President Christine Burdick. “Having a chance to sample new flavors, and perhaps grow new businesses for downtown makes this event a win-win.”
The Mayor’s Food Truck Fiesta will be held the first Wednesday of every month at lunchtime from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature different food trucks each month. Mark your calendar for Wednesday, November 2 and join us in downtown to taste this month’s food trucks specialties.
