MOTHER: Candace Mitchell, B/F, DOB: 7/18/1987, 5502 North 43rd Street #206, Tampa---Arrested and charged with Aggravated Child Abuse on 5/28/2012.
DETAILS:
The 2-year-old child who was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital on May 25, 2012 with serious injuries passed away today at 11:21 a.m. Detectives are now actively investigating this Aggravated Child Abuse case as a Homicide. There will be no further updates on this case until the investigation is complete, which could take at least a few weeks.
Tampa Police officers charged the child's mother, Candace Mitchell, with Aggravated Child Abuse on May 28, 2012 for failing to seek medical attention for the child in a timely manner. At this time, there are no other charges.
