July 3, 2012 - The City of Tampa Department of Solid Waste & Environmental Program Management has expanded the payment options at the McKay Bay Scale House.
McKay Bay Scale House will move from a cash only operation to also include credit cards and debit cards with a MasterCard or Visa logo as methods of payment. The City of Tampa has implemented the new service with the goal of improving the payment transaction process at the McKay Bay Facility.
Residential customers who choose to use a credit card as the form of payment will no longer be required to leave a cash deposit on their inbound weigh; instead, a quick credit card validation will take place. Upon exiting the McKay Bay Facility, customers’ vehicles will be re-weighed and the credit card transaction will be processed for the appropriate amount. Additionally, commercial private haulers are offered the convenience of using a credit card to pay for their current transactions, which provides an alternate payment option when the funds in their solid waste accounts are depleted.
