Tampa Police officers responded to a crash involving an overturned tanker truck on Adamo and 50th Street at 7:15 a.m. The truck was carrying liquid asphalt when the driver attempted to turn northbound on 50th Street from East Adamo Drive. While making the turn, the asphalt shifted and caused the truck to roll onto its right side.
The majority of the liquid asphalt stayed contained, however, the crash caused a minor spill. Crews are currently working to clean up the spill and remove the truck from the roadway.
Northbound 50th Street is closed to traffic at this time. East and westbound Adamo Drive and southbound 50th Street remained open after the crash.
