The City of Tampa has activated its Joint Information Center (JIC) in support of the 2012 Republican National Convention (RNC). The JIC is a part of the City of Tampa Emergency Operation Center.
The JIC will be staffed and operational 24 hours a day through Friday, August 31 at 9 a.m.

Daily Briefings – Beginning on Sunday, August 26, 2012, Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Police Chief Jane Castor will hold daily briefings at 10:30 a.m. in the Executive Conference Room on the 4th Floor of the Tampa Convention Center located at 333 South Franklin Street.
Police Chief Castor will join Sheriff David Gee and Fire Rescue Chief Tom Forward will give briefings twice daily at 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Tampa Police Department located at 411 North Franklin Street.

Call Center – The RNC Call Center can provide up to date information on any additional, temporary street closures, downtown parking options, basic directional assistance, and hospitality information for visitors. The RNC Call Center number is (866) 762-8687, and it is toll-free. It is operational 24 hours a day until noon on Friday, August 31, 2012.
