Tampa, FL September 27, 2012 - Mayor Bob Buckhorn released the statement below after Tampa City Council passed the Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 Balanced Budget:
“I am very pleased with this budget. It reflects my priorities of making government more efficient while investing in our neighborhoods. Despite facing a nearly $30 million shortfall, we were able to find efficiencies so that no one would have to be laid off and the quality of city services that residents expect and deserve was maintained.
“Most importantly, this budget will allow us to make a landmark investment in critical infrastructure improvements and continue strengthening our neighborhoods.”
Background
