November 26, 2012 - Mayor Bob Buckhorn announced that the City of Tampa received three responses to the request for proposals (RFP) to create a bicycle sharing program.
B-Cycle,LLC, Cyclehop, LLC, and DecoBike, LLC submitted a proposal for review.
"I am excited that we received three serious proposals. All three firms bring the knowledge and background of having set up successful bike sharing programs before, and I look forward to exploring the details of each proposal," said Mayor Bob Buckhorn.
The RFP requested a proposal to create 30 stations with 300 bikes throughout Tampa's downtown core, Ybor City, and surrounding neighborhoods by the fall of 2013, with expansion phases to continue out to Westshore and the University of South Florida area by fall 2015.
