Tampa, FL January 14, 2013 - The Solid Waste Enhanced Environment Program (SWEEP) continues to provide services designed to improve the quality of life throughout Tampa’s neighborhoods. In addition to regular trash, recycling, and yard waste services, the Department's SWEEP program provides residents with thirty-six, weeklong, neighborhood clean-ups each year. Over the past five years, SWEEP has removed 13,489 tons of bulk trash items and debris from Tampa’s neighborhoods.
The Solid Waste Department neighborhood SWEEP collection resumed on Monday, January 7, 2013.
Residents should place bulky items curbside the week of their neighborhood clean-up and the Solid Waste Special Services team will take care of the rest. The following neighborhoods will be serviced in January:
