Tampa, FL January 31, 2013 - This month on Spotlight Tampa, we learn how Gasparilla brings three exciting cultural events involving music, film and art to Tampa. The Black Heritage Street Festival showcased the "heart and soul" of Tampa's African-American community in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. The Remembrance Project brought a unique piece of history to our community – a fire truck that responded to the collapse of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. A band of volunteers, led by artist Mike Parker, are using a highly sophisticated color palette to inspire everyone to rediscover the unique beauty and heritage of Ybor City. And the Bay Bistro restaurant opened at the Tampa Convention Center.
