Kari Holbrook - star student, active Girl Scout, Mayor’s Youth Corps member – sat contemplating her next project. After working for two years on City of Tampa Television’s (CTTV) youth-oriented magazine show, From the Corps, Holbrook now was given the opportunity to produce a special for the station as part of the Youth Leadership Council. That special would double as her Girl Scout Gold Award project. Two of her mentors, Mayor’s Youth Corps Advisor Rebecca Heimstead and CTTV Producer/Director Frank Crum, nudged her to challenge herself by reaching for a topic incongruous with her own social environment.
