The board consists of 7 members: an arborist, an architect, an attorney, a contractor, a landscape architect and 2 civic representatives. Ybor Flavors is all about the district's unique retail, delicious dining experiences, living history and blend of culture. This month, host Veronica Swiatek takes us to two fabulous festivals in Ybor - FlanFest and Brewfest. Flanfest is a competition between culinary artists from all over Florida, seeking the blue ribbon for superior flan. Over 40 contestants brought their flan recipes, hoping to be crowned Flan Champion. Brewfest transformed Centro Ybor into a three-block veritable beer garden, with over 40 craft breweries participating. Mayor Buckhorn even stopped by to tap the ceremonial keg and get the festivities started.   more...

The Black Heritage Street Festival showcased the "heart and soul" of Tampa's African-American community in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. The Remembrance Project brought a unique piece of history to our community – a fire truck that responded to the collapse of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. A band of volunteers, led by artist Mike Parker, are using a highly sophisticated color palette to inspire everyone to rediscover the unique beauty and heritage of Ybor City.
