Beginning Monday, September 28, the two south garage elevators in the William F. Poe Parking Garage will be temporarily out of service while improvements are made to the ground level elevator landing and street access. September 4, 2009City Completes Vehicle and Equipment Study - Potential savings identified ** Expired **

The City of Tampa recently completed a contract study on the effective utilization of its vehicle and equipment fleet to identify potential cost savings. Mercury Associates Inc., a well respected international fleet consulting firm, analyzed the City’s more than 3,000 vehicle and equipment fleet to ensure it is sized and equipped appropriately, utilized efficiently, and acquired economically.  By fully implementing recommended fleet reductions, the City expects to save $1,080,000 in the first year and a total of approximately $2,275,000 over five years.  more...

On Tuesday, June 23rd, the residents of the Quarter at Ybor and the residential business owners of the surrounding businesses held a community meeting and voted to amend the city ordinance on residential parking. This public meeting was the second of two publicly advertised meetings sponsored by the Department of Public Works to discuss neighborhood parking concerns. A majority vote was reached by the end of the second meeting to include the boundaries defined by East 12th Avenue by the north; East Palm Avenue by the south; Angel Oliva Senior Street by the west and North 21st Street by the east.  more...
