Swim Lessons 2009

swim lessons Now is the time to get off of the land and into the water. Tampa Parks and Recreation Department is offering swim lessons beginning on June 15. Swimming is a great activity. There are swim lessons that can fit into any budget (including free) and swimming classes for kids at every level. Learn more.

Walking with Mayor - Keeping Tampa Fit

Mayor Iorio invites you to join her on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Al Lopez Park for a fitness walk and free health screenings. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. and the walk will begin at 7:30 a.m. The Mayor’s Walk provides a great opportunity for parents and caregivers to lead by example, to bring the kids out for a fun, community activity that is suitable for all ages and abilities. Don't wait in line, pre-register now by downloading the Authorization Form and mailing it to: Walking with the Mayor, 3402 W. Columbus Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.

June 30, 2009 - The City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department invites you to come out to the parks and enjoy the Fourth of July holiday. City parks and beaches will be open normal operating hours this Independence Day, however, some staffed facilities may have holiday hours or may be closed.  more...
June 30, 2009 - National Clean Beaches Week is July 1-7, 2008 and the City of Tampa is encouraging residents to get involved to help keep our beaches clean and healthy. The public is invited to join the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department and the Mayor’s Beautification Program for beach clean-up projects at Ben T. Davis Beach and Picnic Island Beach on Sunday, July 5, from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
