
The Community Investment Tax (CIT), approved by the voters on September 3, 1996,
provides for a one-half cent increase to the Sales Tax. In FY98, revenues from the tax are
projected to be $9.2 million of which $6.2 million will be allocated to capital
improvements and $3.0 million for vehicles and equipment. The revenue from the CIT is
focused on public safety, parks and recreation, stormwater and public works.

Police: 50 marked police cars for the take-home program
along with 32 unmarked cars to replace older cars - $2,062,000.
Fire: Station #13 (40th & Busch) improvements -
$228,000, an aerial fire engine and 2 cars - $656,000.

Center - $872,000.
Parks: Greco Softball Complex Renovations - $386,000:
