Sulphur Springs Pool
The original Sulphur Springs Pool opened in the 1920's, was upgraded in the 1950's and closed in the early 1990's.

The new Sulphur Springs Pool, opened in April, 2000, is geared toward families and is open year-round. The pool includes four swim lanes, a water slide for toddlers, a spray hose, shower, umbrella, and a sand volleyball court. A picnic shelter was added and the bathhouse was renovated. Thanks to a public-private partnership of the City and Friends of Tampa Recreation, Inc., a large water slide was installed.

Police & Fire Communications Center

Police Districts and Communications Center
FY2000 saw the completion of the Police Department decentralization of patrol districts and communications. At a cost of over $15 million, the Department replaced the old police headquarters on Tampa Street with a new headquarters downtown, built two new district offices and built the police and fire communications center. The decentralization into three districts locates officers nearer their patrol areas and enhances community oriented policing.
