This project is the highest
transportation priority for this
administration. Construction
will be ongoing for a number
of years to expand 40th Street
from two to four lanes from
Hillsborough Avenue to
Fowler Avenue. The project
consists of five segments
with a projected cost of $80
million. The segment from
Fowler to 500 feet north of
Busch Boulevard is under
construction. The second
segment, 500 feet north of
Busch to north of Yukon,
is out for bids with an
opening date in September
and is expected to begin
construction in the first
quarter of fiscal year 2005.
