Behind the Scenes at CTTV

Disability Mentoring Day

Hillsborough Community College (HCC) radio/TV broadcast major Maurice Parrish (center) visited the CTTV studio on Disability Mentoring Day.  Maurice received a hands-on tour of the facility led by Assistant Producer Chris Philips and Producer/Director Frank Crum.  The day is a special job shadowing opportunity as part of an  annual program organized through the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council.  Students explore career options and get a real-life look at their own areas of interest.

Maurice gets a peek behind-the-scenes of CTTV's master control operation.  Master Control Operator Ivan Benson explains how programs travel from the edit suite into the programming line-up.  Maurice shared his personal experiences as a DJ for HCC's radio station HWK Radio AM 5020.

A Lesson in Master Control

Inside the Tampa City Council Control Room

Producer/Director Brian Sullivan gives Maurice an overview of the equipment used during a live Tampa City Council meeting at Old City Hall.  Maurice was afforded the opportunity to operate robotic cameras, create graphics and choose between various shots to put on-air.

Cable TV Specialist Stacie Ciucio and Cable Television Manager Mindy Snyder pose with the World Series Trophy while the award was displayed at Tampa's City Hall Plaza before the start of Major League Baseball's championship series.  After a brief ceremony, Rays fans lined up for the opportunity to see the 2008 trophy up close.
