Domestic Partnership Registry  

We are pleased to announce that a Domestic Partnership Registry has been established for the City of Tampa.

The implementation of this registry speaks to the heart of who we are as a community. It embodies our diversity as we strive to respect everyone's rights regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, creed, orientation or marital status.

As we seek to change our economic DNA and create jobs, this is an important economic driver. I want potential companies and employers moving into Tampa to understand that we value and celebrate the diversity of our residents.

As mayor of Tampa, I welcome this new opportunity to ensure that all citizens of the City of Tampa have the same basic rights and to spread our spirit of inclusiveness.

What should I bring to register?

• Your partner
• Each registrant's driver's license or other Class 1 ID
• $30 cash or check made payable to the City of Tampa

To register, you do not need to be a resident of the City of Tampa. However, the Registry is only applicable to facilities within Tampa city limits.

Registered Domestic Partners will each have the following rights:

• to visit his or her partner in health care facilities
• to make certain health care decisions for his or her partner
• to make funeral and burial decisions for his or her partner
• to be notified as a family member in case of emergency
• to be designated his or her partner's preneed guardian
• to participate in the education of his or her partner's children

Exceptions may apply. Consult an attorney if you are unsure about the extent of your partnership rights.

Please note: The City of Tampa is a Florida municipal corporation, and there are no public records exemptions applicable to the Registry Affidavit. Your registration is public record.
