The following establishes procedures
for the intake of required documentation when requesting a permit for a change of
use. A change of use permit is required when an existing building is occupied by
a new owner who will be changing the usage of the same.
The Client Facilitator will:
Review
the
application submitted for completeness; along with two (2) sets
of floor plans and two (2) sets of site plans and
the
Owner Permit Affidavit (if
applicable).
Verify active comments on the system. If a department (Neighborhood
Improvement, ARC, etc.) has active comments on project customers will be
referred to
the effected departments for approval prior to submitting.
If the property is located in a historic district, approval from
the designated department (ARC, Barrio Latino, etc) is required prior to plans
being approved.
All forms must be completely filled out with appropriate information at
time of submittal.
Plan examination
fees are calculated and due at the time of submittal.
Licensed general, building contractor or authorized agent is allowed to
submit and obtain this type of permit. Check to see if there are any active
comments on contractor.
A qualifying owner of a commercial building whose total construction
cost is less than $75,000.00 (including building, mechanical, plumbing, gas,
and electrical work), and whose occupancy and use is for the owner and not
offered for sale or lease.
