Threshold BuildingsThe structural inspection plan, prepared by the engineer or architect of record, must be submitted to the building department prior to the issuance of a building permit for the construction of a threshold building. The purpose of the structural inspection plan is to provide specific inspection procedures and schedules so that the building can be adequately inspected for compliance with the permitted documents. Erosion Sediment ControlTo be made prior to any scheduled or unscheduled inspection. Verify all silt barriers and other erosion control measures are in place and properly maintained such that sediment laden runoff is controlled. Overlay DistrictThe purpose of an overlay district is to apply specific regulations to distinct geographic areas, which warrant special consideration due to a unique situation or practical difficulties resulting from the historic development pattern. Governing Laws are found in Chapter 27. Historical DistrictCurrently, there are five (5) historic districts, which encompass over 4,200 buildings. The designation protects these properties that have been determined to be of distinctive character, architectural value and cultural significance to the City.
