Firefighters responded to 65,533 calls in 2005.
Fire Statistics
In 2005 Tampa Fire Rescue responded to 10,469 fire type calls.
When the firefighters arrived they found the following types of fires:
1,151 Trash, Dumpster, or brush, 973 Structure fires (includes residential and
commercial buildings), 420 vehicle fires, 404 Hazardous materials responses,
4,803 Automatic Fire Alarms, 2,718 miscellaneous fire calls.
EMS Statistics
There were 32,099 requests for medical services in 2005.

Advanced Life Support Units provided by the fire department responded to these
calls for service.
Of the 32,099 alarms responded to, 16,344 required transport to a medical facility.
