Consolidating Mowing and Maintenance Contracts
The City currently manages 19
different mowing contracts involving
seven departments and 240 million
square feet of mowed space. A simple
standardization of basic requirements
in similar mowing contracts will
allow for lower pricing. The
standardization process is a multiphase
program. The intent is not to
have one large consolidated contract,
but rather to standardize contracts to
achieve the best pricing. This will reduce the number of contracts to 10 and reduce the
overall spending for mowing by 7.4%.
