The Legal Bureau handles all legal matters concerning the
administration and operation of the police department, and responds to all
requests for legal opinions.
The Forfeiture Unit reports directly to the
assistant city attorney, who serves as police legal advisor. Deterring criminal
activity by depriving criminals of property used in or acquired through
illegal activities is the primary responsibility of the Forfeiture Unit.
