Assistant Chief Jane E. Castor

Assistant
Chief
Jane Castor joined the department in February 1984. She has served in
a variety of assignments in the Patrol Divisions, Narcotics Bureau,
Criminal Investigative Division, Criminal Intelligence Bureau and
Administrative Division. She was promoted to Assistant Chief in August of
2005, holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology
from the University of Tampa where she attended on an athletic scholarship and a Masters of Public Administration from Troy State
University. Chief Castor is also a graduate of the FBI's National Academy.
Chief Castor directs all police patrol operations
and the Media Relations
Office.
Assistant Chief Robert "Bob" Guidara
Assistant Chief of Police - Investigations & Support
Assistant Chief Bob Guidara
oversees the Investigative and Special Support Divisions of the Tampa Police
Department. His command includes a wide spectrum of services such as criminal
investigations, narcotics, gangs, traffic division, personnel and training,
records, evidence and property, forensics, special events, emergency management
and specialty teams such as the Tactical Response Team, Air Service, Marine &
Mounted Patrols. Chief Guidara manages the department’s annual $139 million
dollar budget.
Following a 4 year tour as a Law Enforcement Specialist
with the USAF and an additional year with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s
Office as a Correctional Officer, Chief Guidara began his career with the Tampa
Police Department in 1978. He served the department in many capacities,
including all three Patrol Districts, Administration, and Special Operations.
He was appointed by Mayor Iorio to serve as the interim Public Information
Officer during a 13 month nationwide search to fill the position. Assistant
Chief Guidara is a former commander of the nationally acclaimed drug unit known
as QUAD! As a District Commander, Assistant Chief Guidara was recognized for
the role that he played in leading his district to an unprecedented 30% crime
reduction.
Chief Guidara earned a Bachelors
of Science in Criminology from the University of Tampa and a Masters in Public
Administration and Human Resources from Golden Gate University. He is also a
graduate of the prestigious Southern Police Institute where he earned special
recognition as a “Dean’s Scholar.”
Chief Guidara is a public
servant with a proven and determined track record of improving public safety!
Major Sophia Teague
Commander - District One
Major
Sophia Teague joined the department in February 1984. She served the
department in Patrol, Field Training, QUAD (Quick Uniform Attack on Drugs)
Criminal Investigations, the Administrative Division before being promoted to
Major in November of 2005 and becoming the District Two Commander. Major Teague
became the District One Commander in June 2008. She is a graduate of Saint Leo
University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Master’s in
Business Administration. She also attended the Florida Department of Law
Enforcement Senior Leadership program.

District One which includes South Tampa, West Shore & West Tampa.
She is responsible for patrol operations as well as specialty operations
such as SAC Squads, QUAD Squads, and the district property crime
detective squad.
Major John Bennett
Commander - District Two
Major
John Bennett joined the Tampa Police Department in November 1984. Major Bennett
worked as a patrol officer and Field Training Corporal for twelve years
prior to becoming the executive officer to the Chief of Police. He was
promoted to Lieutenant and started his career in Special Operations where
he has helped pioneer Homeland Security trends in local law enforcement before
being promoted to Major in October of 2005 and served as the Special Operations
Commander. In June 2008 he became the District Two Commander. Major Bennett holds a Bachelor
of Arts in Criminology and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

for patrol operations as well as specialty operations such as SAC Squads,
QUAD Squads, and the district property crime detective squad.
Major Gerald Honeywell
Commander - District Three
Major
Gerald Honeywell has served the department for 25-years in all three districts,
Quad, the Internal Affairs Bureau and District One Division Commander before
becoming the
District
Three commander. Major
Honeywell has been actively involved in the redevelopment of East Tampa.
He served on the Public Safety Committee for the East Tampa Community
Revitalization Partnership and was a member of the East Tampa Task
Force. He is a lifelong Tampa resident, a graduate of
Jefferson High School and Tampa College. Major Honeywell served four
years in the U.S. Coast Guard before starting his career in law
enforcement. He has been married for 16-years to Judge Charlene
Honeywell. They have two children.

responsible for patrol operations as well as specialty operations such as
SAC Squads, QUAD Squads, and the district property crime detective squad.
Major George McNamara
Commander - Criminal Investigations Division
Major George McNamara joined the department in January 1981. He
has served in several areas of the department including the Patrol
Divisions, Special Operations Bureau and the Criminal Investigations
Divisions where he spent nearly twelve years working with the Homicide
Squad before being promoted to the rank of Major in June of 2003. Major McNamara holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice
from Saint Leo College and is an honor's graduate of the Southern Police
Institute Administrative Officers Course.
Major McNamara oversees the departments Major Crimes
Bureau, Narcotics Bureau ,
Communications Bureau and Gang Suppression Unit.
Major Marc Hamlin
Commander - Special Support Division
Marc Hamlin has been with the Tampa Police Department since 1990. He has served in all three-patrol districts, the Criminal Investigations Division and the Special Operations Division. He spent over seven years as a detective and sergeant in undercover units of the Narcotics Bureau and the Street Anti-Crime Squad. As a captain in District III, Hamlin has commanded the sector encompassing downtown and Ybor City since 2005.
Major Hamlin is a native of Queens, NY. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Troy State University. Marc is also a graduate of the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute, where he was a Dean Scholar Award winner and President of the 106th Administrative Officers Course.
Major Marc Hamlin
commands the
Special
Support
Division, all special events in the city, Emergency
Management, and Homeland Security operations.
