Captain Charles
Courtoy will work to reduce crime by
overseeing patrol operations in District One where he has spent half of
his 23-year career.
Florida's Attorney General recently selected
Captain Courtoy to serve on the Criminal Justice Standards and Training
Commission. In this prestigious role, he is one of 19 law enforcement
professionals overseeing the credentials of all corrections and law
enforcement officers in the state of Florida. Captain Courtoy was also
one of Tampa's first Community Oriented Police Officers in West Tampa.
Courtoy has dedicated his career to fighting
crime as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Sergeant over Quick
Uniform Attack on Drugs (QUAD) Patrol and the Field Training Program.
Most recently he served as a Lieutenant over the Rapid Offender Control
(ROC) Squad.
Captain Courtoy has a Master of Science Degree
from Troy State University in Public Administration and a Bachelor's
Degree from Maryville College in Political Science.
