Fallen Officer - Gary Pricher

Sergeant Pricher, 31, Chief Robert Smith and four other officers were on their way home from a Tactical Response Team seminar in Orlando when they stopped to help some stranded bus passengers.

While assisting in moving the passengers away from interstate traffic a pickup truck swerved off Interstate 4 and hit Pricher, who died at the scene. The driver fled the scene. Police later charged David Lee Hoag of Kissimmee with drunken driving, manslaughter and felony hit-and-run.
