A primary function of the Westshore Alliance, in partnership with the Tampa Police Department is to address security issues such as:

• SCAN Radio Program

The Alliance and police department help to protect businesses and their employees by keeping them apprised of the latest crime statistics and trends. Programs are presented to businesses free of charge on a variety of safety topics which include:

• Drug Awareness
• Conflict Management
• Office Security
• Safe Traveling
• Personal Protection
• Workplace Violence
• Student Safety
• Road Rage

The SCAN radio program (Security Communications Assistance Network) connects participants directly to TPD officers working the Westshore district allowing quick exchange of information about suspicious or criminal activity taking place.
