I started the Tampa Police Explorers in 1992, at
the age of 16. With Law Enforcement always in my heart, I strived
to do well in this program. I joined the Tampa Police Explorer
Pistol Team in the first year after joining the post. I received
many shooting awards on state and national levels. I was awarded
second place overall shooter at the Explorer National Competition in
Flagstaff, Arizona. Before retiring from the post at the age of
21, I reached the rank of Captain. I enjoyed the added
responsibilities and training new explorers.
I was hired by the Tampa Police Department in
March of 1999. During my time as an officer, I became a Field
Training Officer. I enjoyed my time as a Field Training
Officer because I was able to pass on my knowledge to new recruits.
The post never left my heart. I returned to the
post by becoming the pistol team coach for two years. The pistol
team was brought back to a state competing level.
In October of 2010, I was promoted to the rank of
Detective. I am currently assigned to District 3 Detective
The Explorers is something that comes highly
recommended by me. Without the post, I would not be where I am
