The Department of Solid Waste & Environmental Program Management Recycling Division is proud to introduce The Recycle Guys who will be featured on the sides of all recycling vehicles as well as in publications and on promotional items!

The Recycle Guys are part of an educational outreach campaign currently being used in several other states nationwide, designed to raise awareness by educating and informing the public about the importance of recycling, what can be recycled, how to reduce waste, and associated benefits. The campaign hails from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control Office of Solid Waste Reduction and Recycling, and was introduced in 1997.The campaign has won several local and national awards, and has been adopted by other states and local governments, like Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and the City of Denver, to encourage recycling in their communities.
