The City of Tampa’s curbside recycling program collects
newspapers, magazines, aluminum and steel cans, glass, plastic bottles
and aseptic, gable-top beverage containers, on a weekly
basis. All City of Tampa residents in single family residences
have curbside recycling service available to them. Participation
varies according to neighborhood, with an average of 35%
citywide. City residents recycle 400 tons of newspaper and 225
tons of aluminum cans, glass bottles and jars and plastic
bottles monthly. Recycling collection is provided on a weekly
basis on one of the regular garbage days. If you are not sure of
your collection day, call the Department of Solid Waste &
Environmental Program Management Customer service line
at (813) 348-1111 for assistance. Customers are provided one bin
but may request a second one at no extra charge.
Recycle your old
blue bins: Leave your cracked, broken blue bins curbside on
your pick up day for collection (please leave a note on the bin stating that
you would like it replaced). The old bins will be taken to the processing
facility and recycled.
