Volunteer InformationTeensJunior DocentsMeet new friends while learning about art and culture. Participate in the Tampa Museum of Art’s Junior Docent Program! The Junior Docent program at the Tampa Museum of Art is an exciting experience for teenagers to explore history and culture through art. As a Junior Docent, you will learn about the Museum's collection and assist with family programming including our Art Spot classes, Family Day activities, and student and family tours. A Junior Docent’s major responsibilities are to explain art processes and objects to the general public during Saturday afternoon student and family tours, and to assist the art teachers and museum educators with the weekly Art Spot classes. Being a Junior Docent requires the ability and desire to engage in on-going learning about the Tampa Museum of Art’s collections and exhibitions. Junior Docent Meetings are held two Wednesday afternoons a month from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to the meetings, Junior Docents will work one Saturday a month from 10 to 2 p.m. The Junior Docent team will also have an opportunity to attend one off-site event each month to learn more about the art community in Tampa and enjoy some fun! Refreshments are provided. For more information, call 813/274-8698. Other Junior Volunteer Opportunities Would you like to volunteer at the Tampa Museum of Art?
