Brad L. Baird, P.E.

Department Director

Brad graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida and is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida. Brad has dedicated his entire career to public service; he has worked for the City of Tampa for more than 29 years in various capacities.

He was Project Manager for over $250 million worth of wastewater, stormwater and reclaimed water capital improvements. He later served as Deputy Director for the Wastewater Department including overseeing an Optimization Program that saved the City over $10 million. Since April 2006 he has served as Director of the Water Department.

In addition to ensuring the Water Department meets its mission 24 hours per day, seven days per week, he has spearheaded a 5-year water pipeline replacement program, the Lower Hillsborough River minimum flows program, reclaimed water system expansion and several reorganizations to reduce costs and improve customer service.
