The Downtown and South Tampa water service area for the Tampa Water Department (TWD) is experiencing redevelopment. The proposed demands for proposed developments within this area are well above those projected by the Tampa Water Department in previous planning efforts. In response, TWD has designated a Contribution In Aid of Construction (CIAC) Area to facilitate improvements to the water delivery system required to serve this growth. The TWD Delivery System Hydraulic Model (Model) was recently updated and used to determine cost-effective improvements required to serve this new Downtown and South Tampa growth and meet TWD service levels into the year 2025. For this analysis, the model was run to provide the justification for the proposed delivery improvements. The analysis was also performed to ensure compliance with the minimum transmission pressures of 60 psi for average daily demand and 45 psi during peak hour demand. The required delivery system improvements and location map are available from the City of Tampa Utility Capital Improvement Projects (UCAP) by selecting CIAC New Water Pipeline. The Water Department Policy B-13 is the Downtown and South Tampa Contribution in Aid of Construction Policy.
